With the run up to the new series (series one), I started getting back into Doctor Who in a big way. I had started with the Virgin New Adventures/Previous Doctor Adventures.

I decided to try a few of the Big Finish audios last December. Though the quality of the scripts and the performances can sometimes be uneven, I enjoyed listening to them. After going through those, I ended up getting more in batches. This also got me to explore the missing episodes of the classic series in the BBC Radio Collection. I have since gotten all the monthly Doctor Who Big Finish monthly releases, and then the Unbound, Dalek and Gallifrey series.

Before I saw my first Doctor Who television story (The Time Warrior) on a friend's betamax machine, I got hooked on Doctor Who because of the story novelisations. Even after becoming a fan of the televised series, I still read many of the novelizations as well as New Adventures/Missing Adventures/etc because I enjoyed the characters on paper just as much.

I have heard and enjoyed some of the Big Finish audio. I've also enjoyed the Dr. Who comics (Dr. Who mag/Marvel) and other spinoffs. I think the books, however, will always stay in highly favored status.

I voted other because There isn't an All of the Above.

I voted other because actually, I don't have any interest in the show apart from the main series
