When I ran a Palace server (an interactive internet environment open to the public where you can chat and/or play things out using avatars) running The Palace software in late '90s... The Palace site I ran was called Serindepity (perhaps you visited it?) which I had built various Doctor Who themes in it, I would usually dress my avatar on screen as the 8th Doctor. He was the current Doctor at the time and dressed sharply.
