Who played the Doctor in the FIRST story you saw?

I first saw Doctor Who when WOR (channel 9) in NYC was airing it on Saturday
mornings in the late seventies, if I recall correctly. Tom Baker was the Doctor
in those episodes. I believe I saw Robot first. I then lost track of Doctor Who
until one summer I was flipping the UHF dial an chanced upon a broadcast of
a curious show from a Connecticut PBS station either 19 or 20 on the dial, I
forget. It seemed cool, and oddly familiar, though I was watching it through
the snow of poor reception. It turned out to be episode 4 of the Cave of
Androzani, and in one short episode I tripled my exposure of Doctors as
Colin Baker replaced Peter Davison. At that point I was hooked, and would
watch almost every PBS broadcast that my television could catch, usually ch.
31 in NYC and ch. 21 from Garden City, which would play single episodes,
and on ch. 50 from Montclair, NJ, which would play the stories in movie
format on Saturday evenings, except for splitting up the longer stories.
Eventually, I was exposed to the three earlier Doctors and finally Sylvester
McCoy. I remember how difficult it was to get news of Doctor Who until I
discovered Doctor Who Magazine in the racks at Forbidden Planet...

The first ever episode of Doctor Who I saw was on Saturday night, midnight
on KTEH PBS Santa Clara, it was Tom Baker's The Power of Kroll. Lucky for me
I kept watching and became a Whovian anyway.

The first time I saw Doctor Who I did not know what it was. It was one of the movies, I believe the second one. It was playing on a late night movie show and for some reason I had awakened around 2-3 AM and my father had fallen asleep in front of the TV and that movie was playing. I remember seeing these round robotic creatures that were devestating humans. This was in the early 70's when I have 6 or 7. It wasn't later after I had watched other episodes that I realized what that movie was about. So even though I didn't know it, Peter Cushing was my first Doctor.

For me it was Tom Baker, late in his run. WLIW channel 21 would show one episode (a single 25 minute part) weeknights. I would watch it on UHF! My family hadn't installed cable yet. The very first episode was Pirate Planet part 2 or 3(which ever ended with the Doctor walking the plank.) Because I joined a story in progress I stopped watching and didn't return to watching the show till Warriors Gate. Again I joined the story half way. But this time I stuck it out and up came Keeper of Traken part ONE! Finally, the start of a story. A week later Peter Davison took over and I was hooked. New Jersey Network was running episodes in story format on Saturday nights. They were running the same stories (for the most part) as WLIW. By the time they reached Earthshock I was hooked! WNJM had thrown in the premire of The Five Doctors during a pledge week and that seemed to help my understanding of what the show was all about. WLIW used to have a sci-fi night a few years later with Dr.Who, Blake's 7 and Hitchikers. Wow do I miss that line-up!

For me it was Jon Pertwee in one of the Peladon stories, it was in the early 70's and I clearly remember seeing Alpha Centauri running around wiyh that high pitched voice, and it was also the first time I saw the Ice Warriors.

The first full episode I saw was 'Aliens of London'with Christopher Eccleston but I had seen various other bits of episodes and the first story I saw was the first ever story 'An Unearthly Child' on 'The Beginning' box set.
