Doctor Who: Podshock an international Doctor Who podcast premiering in 2005 by the Gallifreyan Embassy and produced by Art Trap Productions.

Just listening to 181 now and wanted to follow up on the discussion about San Diego Comic-Con.

I recall getting in line for the first-thing-in-the-morning Doctor Who panel at like 6:30am - running into Tara along the way - when the panel didn't start until like 10 or 10:30am. Yeah, it was a pretty full panel.

However, the Torchwood panel was at like 2pm in the afternoon - there were several smaller things in between. I think this hurt the numbers for the audience for TW, mainly because people would wander off since they were not back-to-back panels. Also, it's Sunday, and a lot of people were probably trying to get out of town. IIRC, I headed straight to the Amtrak station as soon as the TW panel was over.

The TW panel did draw a decent crowd, but they certainly would've been better served by having it right after the DW panel. The reason they probably didn't was probably to give RTD a lunch break, etc.

Oh, and yes, I'm one of the few sorry saps who actually liked "Time and the Rani". Being that I was all of 8 years old when Classic Who went off the air, a lot of my memories of Who as a child were of those 7th Doctor stories when they first aired on IPTV. :)

In this episode, someone asked if any non-reality US program had ever been redone in the UK.  While I'm sure there are several, I only know of one off the top of my head.  The ITV program Brighton Belles was a remake of the NBC show The Golden Girls

Enter: The Conquering Chicken

"Mad About You" - which we really liked - was made (badly) as "Loved By You" with John Gordon Sinclair (Gregory's Girl and Local Hero). It ran for 13 episodes and was terrible even though they used the same scripts.
