REAPER the Pilot
This pilot does its job well. It's not as funny as later episodes in both seasons, however, it does have Soc, probably the funniest character to hit our screens in like...forever! Yeah he beats most unfunny characters in any sitcom really but whatever. So it has Soc and it has the bizarre situation. It also has the great Ray Wise playing the devil and he's got his hands full trying to recruit Sam, the slacker who at first thinks he's being hijacked. "I'm not a hijacker, Sam, I'm the devil," Ray says with full mirth in his voice. The tiny dog scene is very funny until Soc whacks it wtih the car door but it survives. I hate animal cruelty of any kind to be honest but whatever.

Happy Anniversary to Us! 24 Years of Time and Space.
It was 24 years ago today, that the Gallifreyan Embassy was founded. It was a different world at that time. The current Doctor was Colin Baker. His stories had just started to make their way to the States. Doctor Who was being shown across the country in the US via local PBS stations. There was no BBC America, no Sci-Fi Channel (or "Syfy"), there wasn't even the World Wide Web then. There were conventions, both dedicated Doctor Who conventions and science fiction conventions with Doctor Who guests and many fans looking to meet and feed their addiction in between cons.

Tara Takes a Knitting Break
For who have the urge to smoke, will step outside to take "a cigarette break" -- for Tara Wheeler, that translates to an urge to knit. Here she is outside the pub at the DWNY and Gallifreyan Embassy joint meet up on June 15, 2009 to take a knitting break. This is how scarves are made. Australian Torchwood: Children of Earth Trailer References the Doctor
The latest trailer for Torchwood: Children of Earth shown on Australia's UKTV has Gwen Cooper references the Doctor.
On a related note, word now is that the BBC in the UK will be scheduling the transmission of the new five-part mini series, Torchwood: Children of Earth now between the 4th - 10th of July. If this is the case, it goes against the previous information of the BBC and BBC America showing them during the same week.
