This is pretty good, possibly the best TORCHWOODs I've ever seen (and I've seen them all folks). I keep expecting something even worse to happen. I mean some pretty positive things have happened in this series to get our three out of their messes and I keep expecting the ole TORCHWOOD evil ending to happen. Maybe that will come. Maybe all the kids will die. Or turn into aliens and mutants and be locked up forever...
but for now...we have some really emotional scenes going on for all three of our trio mostly dealing with family. I sure hope that Gwen does not lose her baby but this is TORCHWOOD so you know...
I also keep expecting Rhys to be killed off in TW fashion. He's a great character and much loved but if he were killed, there'd be more storylines and more angst among our crew.
Did I catch the credits correctly and RTD did not write the second part?
So a friend of mine told me a new show premiered on the Sci-Fi channel yesterday...Warehouse 13.
"After saving the President's life, Secret Service agents Myka and Peter are assigned to the government's Warehouse 13, which houses supernatural objects. They are tasked to retrieve missing objects and investigate reports of new ones. The dramatic comedy, from , is described as part The X-Files, part , and part Moonlighting."
Almost all of Davison's stories have links the previous story and this one is no exception. All the TARDIS scenes with Tegan, Nyssa and the Doctor are well done, acted, and directed. And I must say they FINALLY got Nyssa's look and outfit so perfect, it's a pity she leaves so soon after this. Her new dress is so much better than her Traken outfit and also better than the horrorible thing she wore in SNAKEDANCE. She looks stunning in this story and the Doctor almost seems to notice (a small subplot that went missing in SNAKE DANCE was the Doc's ignoring Nyssa, note in SNAKE DANCE prt 4 or so, he helps her down and she coldly tell shim it was unnecessary.") Sheesh, was she deliberately trying to get him to notice her? That's how it looked. yet JNT wouldn't even let them hold hands (with Tegan too) in TIMEFLIGHT.
Really getting good!
SPOLIERS IN THESE POSTS!!!!!!
Was pleased with myself as I'd said to my brother-in-law yesterday the I thought Captain Jack would turn out to have been driving the Bus load of children in 1965.
A bit worried about this wanting 10% of the children - that 'sounds' like The Master at the end of Series 3 and killing 10% of the human race (that was of course re-set)
I hope it's not that.
10/10 this episode
Torchwood: Children of Earth (episode 1) Day One saw a jump in the ratings for the show. Reportedly 5.9 million viewers in the UK is said to have watched this first episode of the third series of Torchwood according to the BBC.
Compared to between 2.5 and 4.2 million average audience of series 2 of Torchwood, it is clear that the anticipation for the return of the series has been fairly strong. This marks the highest ratings recorded for the Doctor Who spin-off show since it first came on to the scene in 2007. At that time when it was on BBC Three, it peaked at just under 1 million for its highest viewed episode.

Can't wait - had to start a new thread
Not quite as good as episode 1 - but almost as good
I'm really enjoying this - even though it's a cross between 'The Midwitch Cockoos' and 'A for Andromida'
