As Much as We Need The Doctor, Haiti Needs Doctors Even More Now
We know we have been asking for your support so we can continue doing what we do, and although we still need that support, we hope we can extend that support as a community to help victims of the tragic quake in Haiti this week.
Resources are extremely limited in Haiti right now. While the death toll in the end will be staggering, there are many survivors that are in urgent need of medical attention.
When looking to make a charitable contribution to help, be aware of scams during this urgent time. A useful resource when deciding on how to help the victims of the 7.1 earthquake in Haiti, is the Charity Navigator website. They have a useful page dedicated to charities helping with the relief for Haiti here: Charity Navigator - Help Survivors of the Earthquake in Haiti
One of the recommended charities is Doctors Without Borders (rated 4 out of 4 on the Charity Navigator site). If you can donate, of course you can donate to any worthy organization of your liking, though it is fitting that we spotlight Doctors Without Borders.

The fans over at ONTD_Startrek on Livejournal set up a donation page through UNICEF. So far we've raised over $12000 dollars, and are only about $3000 short of our $15000 dollar goal (which we'd love to see surpassed!).
To top it off, members of our livejournal group have offered door prizes for anyone who donates over $5 and forwards their UNICEF confirmation email to ontdsthaiti@gmail.com .
