Today Big Download has reported that the two 'Doctor Who' adventure games has become available through direct2drive. It was supposed to be released on Thursday at a price of $6.99 for the two episodes as one download, but direct2drive has released them early and they are now available for download for a price of $3.70 (down from it's price of $4.95)

here is the download site for the game:

direct2drive - 'Doctor Who' - The Adventure Game: Episodes 1 and 2

You will need to create an account with direct2drive to get the games and payment is done through credit card (Visa, MasterCard, AMEX, and Discover) or through PayPal.

OH! before I forget... here is the story from Big Download (it needs to be updated with the new price):

Big Download - Doctor Who PC games released for US residents (Update)

and here is the story from digital spy that led me to this discovery:

'Doctor Who' games available worldwide

Just a note on this story - when I saw the story on Digital Spy they referenced the posted story on Big Download (they posted on the 21st (Wednesday)) so the statement about the early release was no longer relevant but I kept the reference in to keep with their story.

Almost a year ago I reported that the Doctor Who adventure games will be coming available through dirct2drive.

Things are starting to change a little bit in that regard - I am beginning to traces of them becoming available through other companies.

Today (May 26th, 2011) I got one of the newsletters from a company called Wild Tangent. They are a distributer of games in the US. Anyway, on their newsletter they had the first game (City of the Daleks) available for download on their website for $9.99.

The link to the website showed that they were being released from Legacy Games. So, I went to their website and found that they have all four episodes of the adventure game series on their website - for a lower price. Each game appears to be $4.95 on their website.

So if you're interested in getting the games from on-line game companies in the US you can wait a bit and they will propbably trickle out to the other companies or you can get them from here:

Legecy Games - Search - Doctor Who

WARNING: I don't know the company so be aware of that fact. They may be a safe company or they might not be - but I think they are probably safe. A review from Moby Games says 'You won't find funnier or more honest casual game reviews on the web.' I don't know if that's true or not since I haven't used them, but everywhere I've chacked they seem to have positive reviews.
