Douglas Adams' Dirk Gently coming to BBC

The BBC's Press office has announced that BBC4 (not Radio 4) will carry the upcoming series 'Dirk Gently'. Dirk will be played by Stephen Mangan and the four-part series will be based on the Douglas Adams book 'Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency'.
Little more is mentioned about the series but it is included in the 'coming soon' section of the press office's schedule.
For all the details I have found on this story you can go here:

The Snowmen
The Doctor, the Widow and the Wardrobe
If you've read Dirk Gently (and if you're reading this you probably have) than you know that it is quite a bizare book. I haven't read it in a few years. I do remember being confused thru much of it and needing to reread pages often. Adams at his best. If the Beeb is planning on putting it to film, I wish them luck. I also hope they don't screw it up. Of course they aren't Hollywood so there isn't as big a chance of them doing that as there would be over here.
I guess this means I need to go read this again. Shucky-darns. Does anyone know if it's available on audiobook?
Fantastic!!
BBC's Press Office has announced that a new series of Dirk Gently will be made for BBC 4 to be broadcast in 2012. The episodes will be 60 Minutes long and there will be three episodes. Beyond that we very little information about the new series

________________________________________________________________________
For those of you who don't know (Shame on you if you don't) Dirk Gently was created by the former Writer and Script editor of 'Doctor Who'. His contributions to Doctor Who include the stories The Pirate Planet, Shada, And City of Death (with Graham Williams - from an idea submitted by David Fisher (credited as David Agnew)).
Doulas Adams is also the creator of a little series called "The Hitchhikers' Guide to the Galaxy'.
So they have indeed commissioned a series. Great. I look forward to checking it out. Thanks for the heads up on it.
Dirk Gently was also a radio series.
In 2007 and 2008 BBC Radio 4 did versions of 'Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency' and 'The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul'. The character of Dirk was played by Harry Enfield.
I haven't heard it but I know that they were released in the UK on CDs by BBC Audio.
