Now that Torchwood: Children of Earth has been televised on both sides of the Atlantic, it is clear that it is a ratings champ all around.
In the UK, the estimated numbers for the BBC showing started strong and maintained its audience throughout the week long series (26.8%). Torchwood: Children of Earth, a five part series was shown consecutively Monday through Friday in the UK starting on 6th of July and then BBC America followed suit showing them on consecutive nights starting on the 20th of July.

Amidst the unraveling of the Doctor Who spin-off, Torchwood: Children of Earth, the BBC has released more information on the upcoming Doctor Who special, The Waters of Mars.
The BBC Press Office has released information on their Autumn 2009 line up on BBC One, including Doctor Who - The Waters of Mars:
Torchwood: Children of Earth (episode 1) Day One saw a jump in the ratings for the show. Reportedly 5.9 million viewers in the UK is said to have watched this first episode of the third series of Torchwood according to the BBC.
Compared to between 2.5 and 4.2 million average audience of series 2 of Torchwood, it is clear that the anticipation for the return of the series has been fairly strong. This marks the highest ratings recorded for the Doctor Who spin-off show since it first came on to the scene in 2007. At that time when it was on BBC Three, it peaked at just under 1 million for its highest viewed episode.

Three Torchwood audio plays prequels to the upcoming mini-series Children of Earth are now available from BBC Radio 4 via the BBC iPlayer and download (downloads for the UK only). Each audio play is 45 minutes and will be available starting Wednesday, 1 July with the story Asylum, following it is Golden Age on Thursday, 2 July, and then finishing off the series is The Dead Line on Friday, 3 July.
The audio plays stars original television cast members, John Barrowman, Eve Myles, Gareth David-Lloyd, Kai Owen, and Tom Price.
The official website for Torchwood: Children of Earth has been launched. This BBC website is catering to the UK and thus media such as movies contained on the site are not available outside the UK.
Torchwood: Children of Earth will be transmitted on BBC1 (in the UK) starting on Monday, 6th of July at 9pm. The mini-series will continue each consecutive night afterwards (i.e. Tuesday, 7th of July, and so on).

Mark Gatiss leads a 30 minute documentary on BBC Radio 4 exploring Doctor Who novelisations published by Target books. The audio documentary, On the Outside it Looked Like an Old Fashion Police Box is available to listen to via the BBC iPlayer (it is available outside of the UK) for the next seven days.
It features interviews with Terrence Dicks, Anneke Wills, and Russell T Davies among others, as well as audio clips from various audio book adaptations.
