Wow - what a cool series of portraits, and they can be yours! An amazing group including Paul McGann, Sheridan Smith, John Simm, Catherine Tate, Richard E. Grant, Mark Gatiss, Noel Clark, Benedict Cumberbatch, Tim Pigott-Smith, Sylvester McCoy, Michelle Ryan and David Morrissey:
This is all for charity too. Win-win (see below:).
You all know how much I love audiobooks - BTW, have you signed up at Audible yet? It's the best. Anyway, I just received an email from CSA Word, a lovely indie purveyor of superb audiobook magic - they're featuring John Simm reading "Billy Liar":
They've got wonderful books read by great readers, including Benedict Cumberbatch, Tim Pigott-Smith (whom we all love in "Masque of Mandragora"), Sir Derek Jacobi, Philip Glenister, Simm's cohort in "Life on Mars," and my all-time favorite... well, just look for "My Family and Other Animals," a true exit-misser if there ever was one, which I was in the middle of when the Touch took a dive. I'm looking forward to starting it up again soon. Made me smile.
From Daily Variety:
BBC Radio 4 continues to deliver aural gifts to us, license fee be damned!
"Playing the Dane" is a reflection on different interpretations of Hamlet narrated by the amazing Michael Sheen (fleetingly quoting Richard Griffiths' "I shall never play the Dane!," much to my unending delight!), with comments from actors as diverse as David Tennant, Derek Jacobi and John Simm. And people who were never Timelords, like Kenneth Branagh and Jonathan Pryce.
Speak the speech I pray you!
A promo video from BBC One for Doctor Who: The End of Time, Part 2. Plus a clip from the special from Alan Carr's Chatty Man show. Could be 'spoilery' - you decide. Also a promo from BBC America for it as well is included.
Cover art for Doctor Who: Podshock 176, our conclusion of our live show reviewing The End of Time, Part 1.
An 'Inside Look' segment from BBC America on Doctor Who: The End of Time, Part 1.
Thanks to @mcfangirl
The mind boggles - no, I'm not going to rush out and "put elastic on it," and I am old enough to cut it out myself, than you very much, but, having been very impressed with Mr. Simm in person, I just don't know what I'm going to do with this mask. Hmmm.... Thanks, BBC! Happy Holidays, everyone!!!
A couple new videos from BBC America include Russell T Davies talking about the thought process during his final specials and working with John Simm.
Russell T Davies on his final episodes of Doctor Who:
The End of Time is coming… faster than you can imagine. Here is the latest "trailer" promo video for Doctor Who: The End of Time coming to the BBC on Christmas Day and to BBC America on Boxing Day with part 1 of 2 of the last David Tennant as the 10th Doctor specials.
Dear John Simm:
I loved you in "Life on Mars," adored you as The Master, but, buddy, you were really awesome in this play. Which wasn't very good. And I was sitting in the front row fearing for my life because Ian Hart almost beat an audience member up a few nights before for allegedly talking during the show. But you were great and it was worth it. Next time, pick a better play. I'll be there, in the front row, savoring every minute of it.

This promo for the End of Time presented at San Diego Comic Con this past weekend was shot by someone in the audience. The hand-held shaky video uploaded to YouTube by safia43 was then stabilized and cleaned up a bit by colonelbarker to the give you what you see here below. It features an element that would had been considered a spoiler before Comic Con, but now is not as the BBC has already announced it. Hopefully a better version of this promo will become available on the net soon, in the meantime, here below is probably the best version of it on YouTube (catch it while you can).
A returning character and actor to the upcoming Doctor Who specials that until now has been regarded as a spoiler has been officially announced by the BBC. There's no avoiding it now. You will know for sure now as 'the cat is out of the bag' with this announcement. Having said that, we will still let you decide. Click the "Read more" below to find out.
