Russell T Davies to Launch New CBBC Sci-Fi Series, Aliens Vs Wizards
Former Doctor Who executive producer and lead writer Russell T Davies who was also responsible for two Doctor Who spin-off series, Torchwood and The Sarah Jane Adventures will now be spearheading a new series on CBBC, Aliens Vs Wizards.
This new series consisting of 12 half-hour episodes is being created with Phil Ford who Davies worked with on Doctor Who and The Sarah Jane Adventures series. It is set to debut in autumn of this year on CBBC. It is being produced by BBC Wales in association with FrementleMedia.
Dream Dates
The animated Doctor Who adventure, Dreamland starring David Tennant as the 10th Doctor will be shown daily starting on Saturday, the 21st of November 2009. The six episode animated series will be shown on the BBC Red Button and the Doctor Who website (most likely locked down to UK visitors only unfortunately).
Being billed as "Doctor Who meets a 50's monster B-movie," the mini series is written by Phil Ford and takes place in the USA (ironically as of yet there has been no announced dates or releases for US fans for this animated series), Area 51 (in Nevada) known for its alien lore. The Doctor finds himself in Dreamland, a secret base in the US which leads him on a mission to rescue Rivesh Mantilax from the threat of the Viperox as well as the American military of course.
